I was wondering what to say to this… I don't know what to call her. Judging by her outfit, I think I'll call her a witch.

"Hey, um… Witch? Can you- Ow!" [Solace]

A little bolt of lightning shocked my side. Where it came from, I had no clue.

"Mind your manners, spirit. I have a name." [Witch]

Her eyes sparkled with a mystical air around them. If not for the fact that I was rubbing my sides, I would've put my hands in a surrender position.

"Okay, how about you tell me your name?" [Solace]

"My… name?" [Witch]

The witch blinked a few times and burst out laughing.

"Oh my, it has completely slipped my mind. My name is Lapasia Fae. I am also known as the great sorcerer of the moving tower. You may call me Lapis." [Witch]

("That's a… very long title.") [Solace]

Guess I'll scrap the witch nickname now.

"So… Miss Lapis-" [Solace]

"Just call me Lapis." [Lapis]

"...Lapis. Can I kindly ask you to let me out of this cage?" [Solace]

Lapis then gave me a smug smile.

"What will I get in return?" [Lapis]

("Damn. She's one of those people.") [Solace]

It was that one sentence that made me know that this conversation was about to be very annoying. Sadly, I still had to do it. Which is kind of like homework. …Or work in general.

"Well, what benefits do you get from capturing me?" [Solace]

"I get to turn you in for a reward." [Lapis]

"Wait, what?" [Solace]

Lapis nodded.

"Of course. With a bounty of 2 million mel." [Lapis]

Reaching into her cleavage, which was pretty hot not gonna lie, Lapis pulled out a rolled up sheet of paper.

"Let's see…" [Lapis]

Unfurling the paper, she showed it to me.

"...Hold up. I think you've got the wrong person." [Solace]

Right there on the paper, was a picture of Nakros. Which is the person who just left a moment ago, my senior disciple.

"Is that so?" [Lapis]

She squinted at me like an old lady.

"Hm… I could've sworn you had the same energy as him…" [Lapis]

I didn't know what this "energy" was, but it might be similar to how Jukhan recognized my master.

"Perhaps you're a disciple of Vincent?" [Lapis]

I started sweating bullets.

"Uh… No…?" [Solace]

I was pretty much traumatized by the last guy who knew my master, and I wasn't looking forward to dying anytime soon.

"That's unfortunate. I used to be his traveling companion." [Lapis]

"Oh, in that case-" [Solace]

"But Vincent was quite the annoyance. I swore that if I ever met his disciples, I'd put them through hell." [Lapis]

I promptly shut up.

"Oh, were you saying something?" [Lapis]

"Nope!" [Solace]

I hoped that Master didn't have mind reading because I was most definitely cursing him at the moment.

"Achoo!" [Vincent]

Rubbing his nose, Vincent let out a little sniffle.

("Is someone talking about me?") [Vincent]

"Well now that you know that I'm not your target, can you let me out now?" [Solace]

Lapis smiled.

"Can't do~." [Lapis]

"What? Why?" [Solace]

"You're going to be my research subject." [Lapis]

("...Bruh.") [Solace]

I couldn't believe I had to deal with a mad scientist now.

"What would you even research? I'm just… me." [Solace]

"That's the thing. A spirit who can move freely without a contractor is unheard of." [Lapis]

That gave me an idea.

"How about I show you something else that is unheard of?" [Solace]

"Oh? And that is?" [Lapis]

"Let me out of this cage and find out." [Solace]

I didn't think this would work, but it was worth a shot.

"Sure~." [Lapis]

And with that, she opened that cage.

("...I wish life wasn't like this.") [Solace]
