The |Experience| gains were not as amazing as I thought it would be. I killed and killed kobolds left and right, but no notifications were given by the Spirit Guide.

("Is this not enough?") [Solace]

I was becoming slightly annoyed by the lack of |Experience| gain, but I wasn't about to release all of my skills on the monsters. Fina, Jai, and Medley were very aware of their surroundings, which led to me sneaking only a few shots in for a kill.

"On your left!" [Fina]

"I got it! Medley, now!" [Jai]

"|Liquid Bullet|!" [Medley]

The three worked flawlessly. They formed a circlement around Nash, rotating as kobolds came forward.

"That's another one down!" [Medley]

Kobolds fell quickly. So much so that they began to rethink approaching us.

("Ah, they're backing off.") [Solace]

The kobolds inched backwards with a low growl, but suddenly stood upright with a startled look on their faces.

"Huh? What are they doing?" [Jai]

The kobolds glanced around and started behaving strangely. Though still somewhat cautious of Fina and the others, they began to regroup into a corner.

"This… They're in a defensive formation?" [Fina]

It was then that thunderous booms shook the floor. There were small pauses between each vibration, which made it feel more closely to footsteps.

"...Guys, I think we should leave. Like, right now." [Jai]

"Agreed." [Fina]

The group began to move, but lost footing as the vibrations became stronger.

"Whoa!" [Jai]

"Careful!" [Medley]

Fumbling around, they managed to avoid falling over each other.

"You guys all right?" [Jai]

"We're fine! Just go!" [Fina]

Scrambling to their feet, they began to run. Their breaths became ragged as they went down the cave, running until they came across a forked path.

"Which way?!" [Jai]

"Left!" [Fina]

"Right!" [Medley]

They came to a sudden halt. Unable to choose which path, the group became alerted to loud howling and crashing from behind. Within the next moment, all became silent.

"What… What was that?" [Medley]

After a few moments of silence, the group could hear faint crunching noises coming from where the kobolds were.

"I… I don't want to know what happened back there..." [Jai]

"Let's just get out while we can." [Fina]

As they moved slowly, the cavern shook again. Judging from the vibrations, whatever was back at the kobolds was getting closer.

"Uh oh!" [Jai]

"Run!" [Fina]

Turning forward to run, they then came to a grinding halt. The problem of a forked path was still there, which made them indecisive.

"Which way?!" [Jai]

"Right!" [Medley]

"How about you, Fina?!" [Jai]

"Whatever, right!" [Fina]

They took the path on the right, all the while feeling the floor's vibration slowly coming closer.

"It's out pacing us!" [Jai]

"Just keep going! We'll be fine when we get to the exit!" [Fina]

As they went further and further down the path, they began to notice something strange.

"Wait, haven't we been here before?" [Jai]

"Huh?" [Medley]

Corpses of kobolds lined the floor, marked with familiar wounds from before.

"We've been going around in circles!" [Medley]

"We should've gone left…" [Jai]

That single moment of pause was a mistake. The vibrations came to stop and a low growl came from overhead.

"...I don't want to turn around." [Jai]

Contrary to his words, Jai turned his head and looked upwards.

"Holy…" [Jai]

"Wha…" [Medley]

("What in the absolute hell is that?!") [Solace]

A humanoid monster three times the height of Jai looked down upon us. It had three glowing yellow eyes, skin the color of silver, muscles that bulged more than my eyes from the sight of it, and wielded an incredibly large dull axe.

"Warning: An entity of higher stats bearing hostility has been detected." [Spirit Guide]

("Higher stats?! Lemme see this for myself, |Analyze|!") [Solace]
